Government/Research Affiliate
While Glenn Research Center is focused on NASA’s aerospace missions, we are
also aimed at becoming good citizens of the State of Ohio. GRC is expanding its
renewable energy efforts that began in the 1970s during the U.S. energy crises-
research that helped develop today’s renewable wind, solar and coal energy. We
are currently applying our extensive aerospace competencies in the fields of
batteries, fuel cells, wind turbines, clean coal, smart grid technology, algae
to aviation fuel, photovoltaics and flywheels to emerging terrestrial applications.
In addition we are proactively involved in institutional energy conservation
technologies, such as wind and solar power generation and building efficiency
techniques and processes.
